We know that many modern workplaces operate with team-based projects, making Project-Based Learning (PBL) a natural way to prepare students for their future careers. PBL is also an effective way to help build a sense of community and belonging by working collaboratively in small groups, which is crucial for middle and high school students who are navigating social and cultural dynamics. Tapping into the magic of animation transforms these student teams into production crews that feel professional and include roles for producers, writers, animators, actors, critics, and more!
In this edWebinar, we will address the challenges of creating a rich, inclusive, and effective learning environment that resonates with multicultural middle and high school students. We will show examples from master educators who have tapped into the power of technology to utilize the art of animated storytelling to build higher-order thinking skills such as analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
Attendees will be afforded the opportunity to apply for a microgrant to replicate this model in one classroom this fall. This edWebinar will be of interest to school leaders, district leaders, and education technology leaders of the middle and high school levels. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
