If so, you might find yourself "evicted" if you're not a paying customer.
Starbucks has reversed its "open-door" policy, effective January 27. From that date, only paying customers will be allowed to use its spaces—including cafes, patios, restrooms, and Wi-Fi. The company is also introducing a detailed code of conduct prohibiting discrimination, harassment, outside alcohol consumption, smoking, vaping, drug use, and panhandling. Violators may be asked to leave, and law enforcement could be contacted if necessary.
Starting January 27, Starbucks will also offer one free refill of hot or iced coffee to customers who stay in-store to enjoy their beverages. To qualify, customers must order their drink "for here" and use either a ceramic mug, glass, or a clean personal cup. Previously, this perk was available only to members of Starbucks' loyalty program.
