Hi. I want to canvas the forums and see if there is anyone else who is a postgraduate now and what your experiences are like.
For myself, I am finding that being a postgraduate in a university that is focused on undergraduates to be a new and different experience. It sometimes feels like we are overlooked and many of the events and such on campus are aimed at those still working towards a first degree. At the same time, there also is a sense of autonomy and peer respect from professors and others as they help us find our place as a fellow researcher or expert in a field rather than simply being a learner. I'm enjoying this experience so far, but the newness of it certainly has not left me yet and likely will not for some time.
What is everyone else's experience as a postgraduate? Or if you're not (yet) a postgraduate, what is your perception of postgraduates or hoped for future as a postgraduate?
