How important do you think internships and practical work experience are in securing job opportunities after graduation?

  • I think gaining experience is extremely important to any job. Work experience is the best thing you can have and in many cases internships are the only method of gaining the experience.

  • I think they will make a huge impact. If you can get one it will also tell you whether you will like it.

  • The most important thing is your network

  • I think internships are great to have and this at least gives you some experience in your chosen field, but it all comes down to who you know.

  • Well, gaining experience is very important for any job. But if you aren't that type of person who wants to wait and take internship then I don't see a problem with it if you just step right into the job.

There should be plenty of people help get you used to your new workforce surroundings and give you a helping hand where you need it...

  • More important than anything else, nothing beats actual works and results.

  • I thinking landing an internship while in college is very beneficial and advantageous when searching/applying for a full time job. I think candidates with some real world experiences is chosen more than someone with none.  Also, it allows one to not only network and lands job easier but they get a feel for if that field is a right fit for them. Or gives them an opportunity to reevaluate their path.
