How do we feel about doing graduate degrees while working?

Is this a good idea? Or is it better to work then take a break for school and go back to working?

  • I completely agree with you. That's been my experience as well.

  • What did you agree with and what is your experience?

  • I can be done just split now well

  • The decision to pursue a graduate degree while working can be a difficult one, as it requires a significant commitment of time and effort. However, it can also be a great opportunity to advance your career, gain new skills and knowledge, and increase your earning potential.

  • My graduate program for MBA suggested working first for better practical application... but I went straight from college to grad school and it made it incredibly easy because I DIDN'T have a career and family interfering with my studies.

    1. Taking calculated risks can be scary, but it can also be incredibly rewarding.
  • I think it depends on your situation. Sometimes taking a break from work is not an option.

  • It requires a lot of work! That said, if you manage to perform well on both, I don't see why not.

  • Experience can give you a better understanding but taking a long break will make it difficult to get in to academic life again. Thats my experience.

  • I worked and had taken graduate-level courses and had taken time off as well.  It takes self-discipline to work and take classes but it can be done.
