Thoughts on "smart" classrooms?

So, obviously our society is becoming more and more connected through our devices, the Internet of Things, 5G, blah, blah, blah. As everything becomes even more connected, what do y'all think about the idea of "smart classrooms"? Do you think they'll ever become a thing and if so, what would they look like? My son will start school very soon so I'm just curious about what his classrooms might look like in a few years.

Thoughts? Will these be good or bad for students and teachers?

  • Computers and technology definitely have a place in the classroom as a resource but should not replace formal instruction and demonstration by the teacher, along with student involvement and questioning.
