We recently asked our Lenovo recruitment team (Krista Jaeckel, Erin Jernigan, and Jane Shephard) to share some tips for working at a global corporation. Their answers are below.

Do you have a question you’ve always wanted to ask recruiters? Share in the comments

What are some tips for working at a global corporation?

Krista Jaekel:

Good communication skills both verbal and written. Being able to work in a team environment especially with people who are different from yourself. Being respectful. Have an open mind.

Erin Jernigan:

- Ability to listen and understand another point of view

- Using time wisely during meetings to avoid back-forth between time zones

- Adjust your communication styles accordingly

- Flexibility

Jane Shephard:

Be engaged - look for opportunities to volunteer and take advantage of a global team to meet and collaborate with others from different backgrounds.

  • Great tips!  I think these tips really apply to any company or corporation.

  • IN AN INTERVIEW, ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU BELIEVE SHOULDN'T BE ASKED AT ALL?

  • There are a few basics here: politics and religion being the two biggest. Dating/relationships are also VERY high risk.

  • Great tips. Thank you

  • WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO RESPOND TO THE QUESTION "TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF?" ?
