There is a growing concern that AI will eventually evolve to one day become a mortal threat to human civilization. A common theme is that AI will logically conclude that mankind is the biggest threat to the Earth's environment and therefore all of human civilization must be exnihilated. What I fear is that access to AI will be somehow restricted and only a few elite will be able to use it instead of everyone. Always be skeptical of those who propagate hypothetical scenarios that play on fear. Fear is a powerful method of manipulation. AI may actually protect human civilization from total destruction in a number of ways. I would much rather AI have control over our nuclear arms system when faced with the only alternative being some hot-head politician up on capitol hill. What are your thoughts?
