Calling all students! Want to make a difference this summer?
Lenovo is proud to partner with Wine to Water to offer TWO Lenovo EDU Students the chance to travel to the Amazon and participate directly in Wine to Water relief projects. The winning students will travel alongside Lenovo staff and other Wine to Water volunteers from July 11-17th, and experience Wine to Water's critical mission in-person.
Trip Details
The Amazon is the largest rainforest in the world, spanning several countries including Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and Bolivia. Currently, the region faces a water crisis due to various factors. Despite Latin America having one of the largest freshwater resources per capita, a third of the region's population lacks sustained access to drinking water. This disproportionately impacts indigenous peoples and traditional communities, exacerbating existing socio-economic inequalities.
Wine to Water Volunteers will have a unique exposure to the need for water in Columbia, areas along the Amazon river, and see first-hand how we are addressing the crisis. Volunteers will spend several days alongside the country staff, in various water projects, spending time in the community, distributing filters, and helping to educate children about healthy water, sanitation, and hygiene habits through the Water4Schools program.
All trip expenses will be covered by Lenovo for the Lenovo EDU student winners.
