Huge Thanks to the Lenovo EDU Community for the Oct Giveaway!

My Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition from the Oct Giveaway just arrived and I wanted to give a huge thank you and shout out to Benjamin Green4 and the rest of the Lenovo team for putting on these giveaways and coordinating things esp during the holidays! I've participated in the forums and giveaways for a while now, never expecting to win, but enjoying the trickle feed of My Lenovo Rewards as a consolation. What a surprise to actually win!

Overall, its a solid all aluminum device with great build quality. Pretty light and slim compared to my Legion 7, with a glossy bright, color accurate 120Hz refresh rate (a must have, after turning off the annoying Intel dynamic refresh rate switching) touch IPS screen (almost thought it was OLED, its that good), surprising loud and clear speakers that can even compete with a macbook. Port selection is decent, with 2 usb-c, 1 usb-a, hdmi, headphone jack, and hardware webcam switch (no physical cover). Looks like I'm gonna have to finally invest in some dongles. Overall its snappy and responsive (once I fixed the refresh rate issue), and runs cool (at least in winter) with minimal fan noise. Also has Windows Hello, usb-c charging, and a bunch of other bells and whistles I've never experienced before. Haven't had a chance to put battery life through it's paces, but expect the jump to lunar lake to provide all day power. Probably my only annoyance out of the box is the placement of the power button on the side of the laptop, which I already pressed by accident a few times while carrying it, but I'll get used to it eventually.

It'll replace my old 6th gen i7/1050ti laptop, and perfectly complement my 4+ year old Lenovo Legion 7i work laptop for when I'm on the go and need something lighter with a longer battery life (that can also game a bit too!). I'll be using it for a bit of coding/data science and for editing photos with Lightroom (looking forward to seeing what the NPU can do to speed Lightroom up). I'll also help me separate work from personal tasks much more effectively now that I have a capable personal laptop again!

Another huge thanks to the Lenovo EDU team!
