Is AI the new calculator?

Discussion

I see AI a bit like the calculator. When calculators first became common, people said it would make students bad at math. And in a way, if someone relied on it without understanding the basics, that was true.

But the best mathematicians didn’t lose their skills — they used calculators to do more complex things faster.

I think it’s the same with AI. It can be misused, but for people who understand how to think critically and creatively, AI becomes a powerful tool — not a crutch.

What do you think — is AI helping students level up, or is it making them too dependent?
