Hello, I was looking to buy a laptop to be capable in computer science uni + side projects
My requirements for my UK laptop would be to be £1k budget, at least 15" or preferably 16" because I want a tall screen, better for coding experience and easy to multi-task.
I heard that 32 GB is most ideal but 16GB at a bear minimum.
Also, I do want it to be able to run games in case of game development, so I want this laptop to be future-proof for my needs while having good battery life. (It is really impossible to balance the performance + battery)
There really should be close to no issues with these in terms of build quality and typing experience as well as audio.
I am coming from an Idea pad 330 model which has amazing audio (feels like 360 earbuds audio with good depth and base), but few laptops achieve that even with a £1k budget which is strange, also noticed how keyboards are less "nice" with the smaller enter key and other layout changed compared to 330 model, I will just have to get used to this.
Also my ideapad 330 with no lag (can open up 13 tabs chrome and VS with task manager at the same time at 4GB ram with no slowness [28% cpu an 78%] minimal fan noise whispers at best. )
Right now I am looking at the Idea pro 7 16" AMD with the ryzen 7 HS model with no rtx 4050 (too expensive extra £300) and drains battery. The other choice is P16s AMD U model.
What are your thoughts should I choose another laptop or is this good enough to be future proof?
I don't plan to buy now but I have noticed that laptops suddenly get out of stock, so how long until these laptops get out of stock?
Also, when is the best time to buy these laptops (during what time of the year/day will they have the best deals?)
Final question, is the premium warranty with ADP worth it, I know it gives peace of mind but do they actually provide reliable quality support, while researching I saw some issues on here about the warranty team not performing their duties correctly, are these exaggerations?
